Cognac Blues Passions confirm 2011 line-up

It's my favourite festival of the year.

The week of Cognac Blues Passions is always terrific fun with artists and visitors from all over the world creating a unique atmosphere in my home town.

I don't care whether it's BB King in the park or an unheard of band in the street there's something about live music that stirs the soul.  Watching The Comittments perform on an island in the middle of the Charente, overlooking the Courvoisier chateau is still the finest concert moment of my life.

This year the festival takes place from the 5-9 July inclusive and acts include ZZ Top (blues?), Jamie Cullum, Texas, Moby and many others.

Book now as it's always popular.

See you there.

Hi Graham,
I know its maybe a bit late to reply to this, but one thing about ZZ Top that has always made me laugh was not the outrageous beards of their frontmen Billy and Dusty, but the fact that the drummer was actually called Frank Beard ! ! ( you couldn't have made that up could you ! )

even the French have caught on to the irony in this - see this piece from the Blues passion Website this year

ZZ Top are scheduled to appear at the Festival just before midnight on Thursday 7th July ... maybe a bit late for me - some old 'rockers' like me do get tired these days ! .. a little bit more worrying however, is that according to their official website
http://bit.ly/z7mF7
the "boys" are scheduled to play at the Hard Rock Cafe in Orlando on the 6th July, and the Horseshoe casino in Hammond Indiana on the 8th ! ! .. now I know current day 'rock-stars' do have a hectic jet-set livestyle, but I think this "schedule" - if correct - may prove quite difficult to carry out ! !

Lets hope their renowned love of Jack Daniels won't keep them away from sampling the delights of our Vintage Brandies !

"Gimmie all your lovin , all your hugs and kisses too " - and then give me a nice feather pillow to snuggle down in.

We have enjoyed some fantastic music over the years...some of it for free and some of it well worth paying for including the amazing Taj Mahal and different but equally amazing Jimmy Thibodeaux Band. The festival alone makes it worth moving to this lovely region!
